| SHGs have emerged as a powerful mechanism for fostering economic independence, enhancing selfesteem, and promoting financial inclusion among women. By focusing on a sample of SHGs within Kottayam, this research aims to evaluate the impact of these groups on women’s economic status and overall well-being. The purpose of the study is to find out the economic empowerment of women through Self Help group of Kottayam district after the introduction of small finance banks in India. The study will consider various aspects such as income level, family wellbeing, credit access, poverty alleviation, improvement in standard of living. This study is identifying the various factors affecting the women empowerment of SHG. The study is also analysing the relationship between economic empowerment of women and factors pertaining to it. The study has used qualitative research technique for data collection from the women members of Self-Help group. This study will definitely provide an insight about the level economic empowerment and family empowerment attained by the members of Self-Help group. This study will also contribute to the development of new plans which can be used for further studies and help government to laydown new schemes and policies for attaining sustainable development goals. | ![]() |
